This guide will walk you through the steps needed to set up a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) account and obtain your GA4 tracking code (also known as a Measurement ID), which you can then connect to your Moteefe Store.
Step 1: Log into Google Analytics
If you don't already have a Google account, you'll need to create one. Once you have a Google account, use it to log into Google Analytics.
Step 2: Navigate to 'Admin'
Once logged into Google Analytics, locate the 'Admin' option on the lower left side of the page and click on it.
Step 3: Create a new GA4 property
In the Admin panel, you'll see three columns: Account, Property, and View. In the Property column, click on the 'Create Property' button. Fill in the requested details for your new property, including the website URL, industry category, and reporting time zone.
Step 4: Set up a data stream
After creating your GA4 property, the next step is to set up a data stream. Data streams represent the sources of data that your GA4 property will analyze. For a website, you need to create a web data stream. Click on 'Data Streams' under the Property column in the Admin panel, then click on 'Add Stream' and select 'Web'. Input your website URL and stream name, then click 'Create Stream'.
Step 5: Obtain your GA4 measurement ID
Once your web data stream is set up, you'll be able to find your GA4 Measurement ID. This is your GA4 tracking ID, and it begins with "G-" followed by a series of numbers (e.g., G-XXXXXXX). This code is found in the details of your web data stream.
Step 6: Enter your GA4 measurement ID on Moteefe
Finally, go to your Moteefe Store, and from the left-hand navigation menu, click on 'Google Analytics'. Paste your GA4 Measurement ID into the field that says 'Paste your “G-” ID here', then click 'Save'. Navigate to the 'Campaigns' page and click 'Publish Store' to finalize the setup.
